Is everything at the same location? What is the wedding timeline?

Yes! The entire ceremony and wedding celebrations are at Shaughnessy Restaurant. The restaurant will be closed to the public for the evening.

After the ceremony there will be a cocktail hour with canapés in the front foyer. Following cocktail hour, guests will be welcomed into the dining area for dinner. You can expect some speeches, funny stories, cake cutting, and then right into dancing for the evening! Come prepared to DANCE. There will be late-night snacks for the party goers. We will close down the party at midnight.

Will the ceremony be outside? What about the weather?

We all know that it can often rain in Vancouver, especially in the fall! Not to worry - the ceremony location is on the fully covered (and heated) patio at Shaughnessy Restaurant.

If you arrive with a jacket, umbrella, etc., please see the staff at the venue and they will provide complimentary coat check.

What is the dress code?

Dress code is formal. For men, this is a suit with a shirt and tie. For the ladies, this can be a knee-length/ midi cocktail dress, a floor-length dress, a pantsuit, or dressy separates. If you know Laura, she loves to dress up so the more sparkle and glitz the better! All is welcome :)

What is the parking like?

There is a large complimentary parking lot at Van Deusen Gardens that is shared with Shaughnessy Restaurant. Free street parking is also available on W 37th Ave and Oak Street. We encourage all of our friends and family to arrive and get home safe. Please take an Uber or ask the staff at the venue to call you a taxi for your way home if you are drinking. Cars can be left overnight at your own risk in the parking lot.

What time should I arrive at?

We ask guests to arrive at 4:00PM. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30PM. Please do not arrive prior to 4:00PM as our vendors and decorating team will be working their magic setting up.

Are children allowed to the wedding?

We love your children and our little family members but this will be an adults only affair and wedding. Thank you for understanding.

Can I bring a guest?

Because of limited venue space, we unfortunately can't accommodate plus-ones beyond those named on the wedding invitation.

When is the RSVP Deadline? How to RSVP?

Please confirm your attendance by August 15th. Kindly fill out the RSVP form on our website here. If you RSVP after August 15th, please contact Laura or Michael directly to see if we can accommodate your attendance.

Can I take photos at the wedding?

We ask kindly ask to please keep our ceremony phone and camera free, and leave this up to our professional team of photographers.

After our ceremony you can take as many photos and videos as you like throughout the rest of the evening and share with us too :)
